This website talks about the specific things that my book club does when choosing books for our book club and how we meet. I hope you find it helpful!

How We Got Started

Although there are many structured book clubs at libraries, my friends and I decided a year ago to start our own book club. It originally started with three friends of mine and my friend's mom and sister. However, most typically my three friends and I are the ones who meet most regularly. We usually meet once a month and rotate houses. At each person's house, we will have dinner and then discuss the books we have read the previous month. Occasionally we will have to meet every other month due to everyone's schedules and if that happens, we will choose two books to read!

How We Choose Our Books

We have tried several different methods in choosing books. At the beginning, we would make a list of 10 books with summaries of the book and then we would rate them based upon what we would like to read. We then decided to pick books off some of the best seller lists and use the book clubs in a bag that the local libraries offered. All of us have different genres that we enjoy reading so we tried to read books from a variety of genres. I enjoy historical fiction, my one friend enjoys more Young Adult Books for Adults, and my other friends read a little of all genres. Recently we have been making suggestions of books to read based on our likes and dislikes or based on books we were planning to read.

Here are some of the books we have read:
